How it all began

My name is Crystal and I discovered my love for art when I was just 9 years old. You could say that God took a very difficult situation and through that, the seeds for Crystal's Creations were planted.

When I was just in 4th grade, Doctors discovered a mass on the membrane of my heart . While everyone else went on Christmas vacation, I went to Children's hospital, to undergo surgery and have the mass removed.

As all parents know, it's pretty difficult to keep a 9 year old entertained when they are confined to a bed for over a week. I had always loved to color and draw, but during my hospital stay, I discovered that I actually had a talent and a deeper love for art.

After spending the week drawing my favorite cartoon characters and other "masterpieces", I told my parents that I wanted to be an artist….my love has grown from there.

I began studying Graphic Design at Auburn University in 1998. It was through this program that I discovered a way to meld my artistic abilities with the fields of Marketing and Advertising. In 2002 I received my degree from the School of Business at Auburn and continue to find a way to mix my passion for art throughout my professional career. It was a very exciting and productive time for me as I spread my wings and took flight, sharing my enthusiasm, energy and artistic finesse with each job I held.

When the love of my life, my daughter Addison, turned 3 however, I realized I needed to make a change for myself and my family. This was a time I knew I couldn't miss, so I quit corporate America and came home to be a full-time mother and wife.

I began to paint, create wreaths and other home decor for friends and family for extra income and after their encouragement and support, took the plunge to turn my "little hobby I enjoy so much" into Crystal's Creations.

I truly am living the best of both worlds as I am here every day to see my daughter thrive and grow alongside my own art-driven business. I take great pride in the items that I create, and I want each and every custom to love their creation as much as I love making them.

I wouldn't be where I am today without the love and support of my husband Michael. He is my biggest cheerleader, and without his uplifting support, my business wouldn't be what it is today.
